To support its research strategy, the BioAnalytical Science Department at the NRC is seeking a:
Research Scientist in Polyphenol Bioavailability who will work within the Nutrient Bioavailability Group, coordinating technicians involved in related projects.
Main responsibilities:
- Organize and run studies on bioavailability / bioefficacy using different formulations of bioactive polyphenols.
- Advice and run in vitro and preclinical studies as well as analytical characterization considering pro/cons and possible alternatives.
- A key part of the work is to understand and evaluate health claims related to polyphenols. - Pro-actively collaborate with other scientists and technicians inside and outside the group/department.
- Work in flexible teams in the different projects to the Group.
Required profile:
- PhD in Nutrition, Biochemsitry, Food Science or related subjects.
- Excellent knowledge of the absorption, metabolism and health effects polyphenols.
- Good knowledge and practice of in-vitro and in-vivo experimentation.
- Good knowledge of molecular biology and/or analytical chemistry.
- Fluency in English.
